Welcome

A warm welcome. I am a registered member of the BACP and hold a Master's Degree as an Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor.

As an Integrative Therapist, the way I work is individual to each client's needs. I am based in Exeter, Devon, but sessions can be held online. I specialise in the pregnancy/perinatal period, bereavement/loss, trauma and abuse.

I recognise how important the therapeutic relationship is and my priority is to provide you with a safe, welcoming, confidential, unjudgemental space for you to feel heard in your struggles whatever they may be and to help you gain self-awareness and clarity.

Therapy is a partnership. We’ll work together to explore what is helpful for you.  You may feel you need support or guidance in something very current, or it could be understanding events from the past that have impacted on you.

From my own experience, I know how difficult it can be to take that first step into asking for help, but also how beneficial it can be to feel supported with the right therapist alongside you on your journey.

What is Counselling and Psychotherapy?

Counselling and Psychotherapy are both talking therapies. Counselling tends to be shorter term work addressing a specific issue, whereas psychotherapy can be working at a much deeper level addressing behaviours and emotional patterns. Saying that, they are often intertwined, both providing a safe space for self-exploration and growth. The most important aspect is they both hold a contracted, boundaried, confidential and trusting relationship that promotes the wellbeing of the client in helping them to understand themselves better.

You are the expert in your own life and therapy can provide the tools in helping you to process and manage where you may need it. We’ll work together on your healing journey, and you’ll have the power to make decisions about your therapy. This empowers you to take control of your healing process.

"People start to heal the moment they feel heard."

Sessions

What to Expect

Deciding to go to therapy can often feel daunting with not knowing what to expect. You have made the first step already by being here. It is perfectly normal to feel many different emotions. It is important for me that you feel safe, welcome and comfortable in my practice.

After our initial online consultation, we will meet in the Sapphire Rooms Exeter. There is a cosy and relaxed waiting room with facilities to grab a drink and have time for you before your session.

I will greet you in the waiting room when your session is scheduled and show you to our therapy room. Sessions last for 50 minutes and will be weekly or fortnightly. You are welcome to use the waiting room after your session for up to 30 minutes, giving you downtime and time to process if needed.

If our sessions are held online, it is important you have a safe and private space to talk.

I also offer sessions at the Exeter Wellbeing Hub, which is just a 2-minute walk from Exeter Central Station.

When we create a safe space for our pain, we allow healing to occur.
